It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out her side required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
