Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated. Required Changes Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Service Background The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
